What is bearded collie? What does a bearded collie look like?

What is bearded collie?

The Bearded Collie is an ancient breed in the United Kingdom and is often referred to as the Highland Collie, Mountain Collie or Bearded Mountain Collie. Some theories suggest that the long-haired collie emerged during the first Roman invasion of England, with theories suggesting that the dog resembles a rough-coated collie, descended from the Magyars of central Europe.

What does a bearded collie look like?

Appears to be exactly the same as the Old English Sheepdog, only slightly thinner and lighter. Active by nature, the body is supported by strong limbs covered with medium-length shaggy hair. The outer coat is relatively rough and naturally drapes on both sides, while the inner coat is soft and fine. Long whiskers on the cheeks, jaw, and lower lip are typical of the breed. The skull is flat and broad, and the eyes are gentle and expressive. The eyes and moderately sized ears are always mostly covered by the fur, the back is straight, and the tail is always lower than the back. The color of the nose may be light or dark but always consistent with the color of the coat.
The bearded Collie is medium in size. The coat is of medium length, following the natural flow of the body, with sparse hair on the underside of the body. The body is lanky, strong and not bulky. The alert and curious expression is characteristic of this breed, and it is displayed with a natural stance.

bearded collie living habits

Gentle in temperament, it can get along well with other dogs or other pets. A stranger will bark a few times with excitement and express a warm welcome. Need to give material and spiritual encouragement. Very friendly and very active, its shepherd instinct makes him enjoy playing games with people [2] . Be careful if you have young children, as they are happy to play ‘rough games.

1. Dried meat
Features: There are many kinds and shapes, and it is almost one of the dog’s favorite snacks. Mainly chicken jerky, followed by beef, and duck. Jerky is usually dried, varies in moisture content, and comes in many varieties.
Purchasing points: jerky with low moisture content has a longer storage time and is harder to eat, suitable for young dogs with strong teeth and good mouth; jerky with high moisture content is softer and smells good, but it is easy to spoil, so it is not suitable to buy it at one time too much. In addition, try to choose a brand or jerky that the dog has eaten before, so as not to cause the dog to get sick due to hygiene problems.
2. Dairy products
Features: Cheese snacks are good for regulating the stomach of dogs, but not all dogs like this taste. There are many types of snacks such as milk slices and cheese bars.
Purchasing points: If your dog’s stomach is sensitive to milk, it is best not to try it, so as not to cause diarrhea. Also, as a reminder, you’d better taste it before buying your dog treats. I tried it once, and I don’t know if I put the wrong seasoning.
Three, chewing gum
Features: It is usually made of pigskin or cowhide, especially for dogs to grind their teeth and kill time.
Purchasing points: according to the size of the dog, the size of the chewing gum to buy for the dog should be decided. If it is too big, the dog will lose interest in biting, and if it is too small, it will be easily swallowed by the dog.
4. Dental cleaning
Features: Teeth cleaning snacks are usually synthetic and relatively hard. The addition of meat aroma can arouse the dog’s appetite for biting, or the addition of mint spice can remove bad breath when the dog bites.
Purchasing points: There are many kinds of this kind of dog treats, some of which are quite cute in shape, and it is also a kind of dog treats that owners are very happy to buy. When purchasing, pay attention to choosing the size that is suitable for the dog’s mouth.
5. Sausages
Features: It is similar to the convenient sausages wrapped in red plastic paper that people eat. There is a small amount of meat and starch in it. It smells delicious, and it is cheap and easy to feed.
Purchasing points: Buy products with official brands, because you can’t see the ingredients in this sausage at all, and the price is very cheap, it is really difficult to grasp the quality of the product.
