Feeding should be timed, fixed and quantitative. No matter how busy the owner is, the feeding time must not be changed at will, and the feeding amount should not be too much or too little. Lack of strict management is detrimental to a dog’s health. There may also be negative psychological effects as a result.
The Bedlington Terrier grows very quickly. It can grow into an adult dog from one year to one and a half years after birth. This period of growth is very important and can even affect the life of a puppy. In order to let the puppy grow up healthily and vigorously. Special attention should be paid to its diet during development.
Puppies are weaned around 6 weeks after birth and can eat normal food thereafter. After weaning to about the third month, feeding time should be set at 7:00 in the morning, noon, 5:00 in the evening and 10:00 in the night, 4 times a day. From the 4th month to the 6th month of birth, it can be fed three times in the morning, noon and evening. During this period, the amount of feeding puppies is about one-third to one-half of the adult dog. After 6 months, you can feed 2 times a day.
During the months from weaning 2 to 3 months up to 6 months, the puppy’s food composition will determine its lifelong eating habits. If you plan to continue to use special dog food in the future, you must adapt it to the taste of special dog food during this time.
