What is sealyham terrier?

The Sealyham Terrier was a breed carefully developed by Captain John Edward in Sealyham, Wales from 1850 to 1891. There was no exact breeding record at the time, but it can be judged that it was produced through a mix of Bull Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Short Leg Long Body Terrier and Welsh Corgi. In 1903, the dog was first exhibited at a local dog show in Wales. In 1908, the dog’s club was established in Sealyham, and in 1911 it was registered and recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the British Kennel Club (KC). The dog was bred to hunt animals such as foxes, otters and badgers, and has the ability to burrow quickly, allowing it to burrow into burrows to hunt targets. It is also an excellent companion and show dog.

The ears are medium in size, with rounded ends; they are folded forward at the level of the head, and the tips hang down to the cheeks. The neck is thick and long, and the chin is clearly angled. The body is of moderate length, strong, with a level back and a broad chest. The limbs are short and surprisingly strong. The docked tail remains upright. The hair is double-layered, the upper layer is setae, and the undercoat is softer. Coat color is the most important part of its appearance, with tan or badger patches adorning the white head and ears, and the body should be pure white or infiltrated with lemon or light brown.
