Golden Retriever how to train

Golden Retriever how to train

Golden Retrievers are naturally docile, kind, warm, lively and friendly, and they are good-looking. They are dogs that many people like. If you want golden retriever to be obedient and sensible, you must go through training. Today I will share with you how to train a golden retriever.

How to Train a Golden Retriever

1. The instructions are clear

If you want the golden retriever to follow your instructions, you must first make it understand what you mean. In order for the golden retriever to understand and remember, it is best to use short and clearly pronounced sentences for the password during training.

For example, “no”, “stop”, “go to the toilet” and other daily behavior sentences, it is best to be unified and short, and the tone of the training should not be loud or angry, otherwise it will resist.

2. Moderate way

No dog likes to be beaten and scolded, and training the golden retriever in a gentle way will make it more acceptable. After all, from the dog’s point of view, being beaten or kicked for no apparent reason can only create the impression of being “mistreated”.

Even if it succumbs to your command, it may be temporary, and the heart does not really identify with you.

3. Compliments should be used at the right time

Dog training can’t just encourage or criticize. Praise should be done when the golden retriever does the right command or is very obedient. Otherwise, praising it when it doesn’t move will confuse it.

This makes training harder when it doesn’t know when it’s right.

4. Develop the ability to adapt

In the face of something he doesn’t like, the golden retriever often avoids, or barks at it, or simply destroys it. This might cause a lot of trouble for the owner.

Faced with this situation, the owner should keep calm, let the golden retriever slowly approach what it doesn’t like, and at the same time, keep talking to it in a gentle voice to calm it down.

5. Be patient

Training Golden Retrievers isn’t something you can just teach once or twice and then immediately remember and follow along, they make mistakes, and it also takes time to develop their memories over the course of non-stop training.

The owner must be patient when training, so that the golden retriever will listen to you more.

6. The training place is not fixed

Some people have a misunderstanding when training, thinking that the golden retriever can be better trained in a specific place and time. In fact, in some daily life such as walking, eating, and visiting guests, you should patiently teach your golden retriever what “should do” and what “should not do”.

How to potty train a golden retriever

1. Take the name

First of all, let’s give the golden retriever a simple and pleasant name. In life, it is often called by its name to let it know that it is its own name. After training, it will respond as long as it is called, and it is relatively simple to train.

2. Training time

When the dog is 3 to 6 months old, it is the best time to train the golden retriever. Therefore, when the little golden retriever first arrives, they should start training, and let them establish toilet awareness from an early age. They should not be locked in a cage because they are afraid of trouble, so that they will never learn toilet etiquette. Secondly, the training time of the golden retriever should not be too long, fifteen minutes each training will do!

3. Set up the “toilet”

Choose a place in your home where you can let your golden retriever go to the bathroom, which can be a bathroom or balcony. The purpose of laying a newspaper with dog urine stains on this specified location is to let the dog smell his own urine stains, and then slowly form a habit of defecation at that location.

The physiological habits of the golden retriever dog include: excretion after waking up and excretion after meals. If the golden retriever dog wanders around the house restlessly, it will excrete. From a young age, once the dog has these conditions, it should be taken to the toilet immediately to let the dog develop good habits. You can pat it on the head when they’re convenient, praising it for its correct behavior.

4. Guide the dog

Many people also take golden retrievers out for a walk to defecate, which also saves the trouble of defecation at home. If you let the golden retriever get into the habit of taking it out for a walk regularly, over time, it will naturally be able to endure until that time, but don’t forget that the owner should dispose of the golden retriever’s excrement outdoors in time. After all, raising pets in a civilized manner can avoid conflicts.

5. Do a good job of rewarding

Insist on training several times a day, and golden retrievers will quickly learn and remember. When the golden retriever puppy urinates in the specified place for the first time, the owner should praise or give a reward in time, so that the dog will know that as long as it is done well, it will be praised and rewarded by the owner in this place. Oh. Reward your dog with healthy snack choices.

6. Remember to punish when disobedient

If they are in disorder, point your finger at the place and tell it “no” in a stern tone. When the golden retriever has been scolded a few times, it can understand that it is a punishment for its own wrongdoing, and it will not dare to do it again next time. Reproach is a must, otherwise when the dog develops a habit, it will not be able to understand the meaning of the owner’s punishment. Also, golden retriever dogs will want to pee when they are excited, and often cannot help peeing when guests visit. At this moment, they should accuse the golden retriever on the spot and make a deep impression on them.

The biggest problem with raising Golden Retriever is that it will shed hair. When its hair is not nutritious, it will accelerate the hair loss, so it is usually necessary to choose some dog food rich in protein and containing deep-sea fish oil to feed.
