Where does the Afghan Hound come from? Habits of the Afghan Hound

Where does the Afghan Hound come from?
1. the afghan hound ,, originated in Afghanistan, in the 19th century in Afghanistan and its surrounding areas, Western countries discovered the Afghan Hound. The Afghan Hound was first brought to England in the late 19th century. The historical use was for track hunting, tracking its prey by sight and following hunters on horseback.
2. Since this hound often leaves the horse far behind, the Afghan hound hunts “by itself” instead of relying on the hunter’s command, thus training its independent thinking ability and becoming a model.
3. In modern times, the Afghan Hound has become synonymous with “noble” due to its stylish retro appearance and noble temperament. Abroad, the Afghan Hound is the only breed that can enter a five-star hotel. The breed has also become the darling of celebrities, models, high-end clubs, fashion magazines, and more.

Morphological characteristics
1. The length of the head is appropriate, it looks very delicate, and the head and front face appear even and harmonious. Slightly raised nasal bridge, forming a Roman face, the centerline rising along the foreface to a slight (or no) stop, disappearing in front of the eyes, so the line of sight is clear without any conflict, the lower jaw appears very powerful, the jaw is long and strong;
2. The mouth is a pincer-like bite, the upper and lower jaw teeth are evenly matched, completely aligned, and there is no protrusion of the upper jaw or the lower jaw. Such a mouth is rare for this breed. Scissors bites are stronger and more prolific than pincer bites, and scissor bites (the teeth in the lower jaw cling to the inside of the teeth in the upper jaw) are not a defect. The posterior occipital bone is very prominent, and the “hair” on the top of the head is a filamentous, long hair.
3. Ears: Long, located at about the same level as the outer corner of the eye, the length of the pinna can extend to the tip of the nose, covered by long, filamentous hair. Eyes: Almond shaped (almost triangular), not too prominent, dark in color. Nose: Appropriate size, black. Defects: Rough, truncated elephant, prominent upper or lower jaw, round, prominent or light-colored eyes, overly exaggerated Roman nose, lack of “hair” on head.

Afghan Hound Character
1. Calm personality, not easy to get angry. Introverted and reserved are the characteristics of the Afghan Hound. When you ignore it, it will not take the initiative to ignore you. When dealing with strangers, it is generally arrogant, but because of its docile temperament, it will not attack people easily. It is different for the master, very dependent, and especially speaks with eyes, likes to look at the master with his eyes, and listens to instructions;
2. But it is not the kind of hound that obeys its owner, but this hound has a very good relationship with its owner. No other pet can compare to the Afghan hound. In addition, it may also know that it has a satin-like fluff and a charming appearance, so it usually loves cleanliness and never goes to dirty places. When walking, it encounters puddles or something, and it will jump over dexterously. What I like to do most is to straighten the hair on my body, or find a comfortable place to lie on my stomach (at most, change positions twice). While they are very active outdoors, they are quiet indoors and won’t bother you all day long.
3. The character is lively and active, and needs a lot of exercise, so a certain amount of outdoor activities should be carried out every day. When walking, be aware that it may become overexcited when it is far from its owner. It would be faster than a horse if it were to run away. Not only these, but its explosiveness and jumping ability are very good (it’s no problem to jump fifty or sixty centimeters in place). The coordination of the body is not to be said. For example, when an obstacle is suddenly found in front, the Afghan Hound can respond quickly in high-speed movement and dexterously turn to avoid it. It likes water very much, and it will jump into it when it sees it. If conditions permit, give it more opportunities to get close to water.
4. Have strong independence. Therefore, the Afghan Hound must be carefully tamed when it is a puppy. Because it is a large dog, it should be well disciplined when it is young to avoid its temper being too impatient. Adult dogs are generally suitable for children and adults when they are well trained. It is also resistant to heat and cold, and has a strong ability to adapt to the environment: it can have strong endurance in any harsh environment. But sometimes there is a neurotic side. Despite their strong physique, in terms of life, dogs are just like humans. Once an accident occurs, various dissatisfactions will also suffer from depression, resulting in increasingly thin dogs, insomnia and more dreams.
