Beagle common diseases and simple protective measures

Common diseases of beagle dogs, like humans, beagle dogs often get sick, but the common diseases of beagle dogs are different from those of humans. People cannot treat beagle dogs with medicines that people eat. We should understand the Common diseases of the dog.

1. When vomiting: If the beagle has no abnormal phenomenon before and after vomiting, especially when the dog eats the vomit after vomiting, it does not matter. If you vomit several times in a day, you want to drink water after vomiting, but the water you drink spit out again, and so on, this is very serious. Just give as much water as you can to moisten your mouth.

2. In case of diarrhea: After diarrhea and defecation, be sure to wipe the anus with gauze dipped in warm water, so as not to itch and cause eczema. If the diarrhea is not severe and the appetite is lost, try to give it food that is easy to digest as much as possible. If there is a lot of diarrhea in a day, it is best not to give food all day, and the disease will be relieved easily.

3. Loss of appetite: Loss of appetite is caused by illness. Naturally, there will be no appetite if the disease is not healed. However, if the dog does not vomit or nausea, a rubber tube can be used to force a small amount of liquid food, or the meatballs can be stuffed by hand. into its mouth.

4. In case of runny nose and eye mucus: some diseases will have nasal water, especially when you have a cold, at this time wipe with absorbent cotton or cotton swab. After wiping, to avoid dry and cracked nose, apply olive oil. When there is eye mucus, you can use 2% boric acid water to wipe with cotton, and then apply non-irritating eye drops.

5. High fever: If the high fever persists for too long, the body will be weakened, and measures to lower the body temperature must be taken. The most important thing is to keep quiet when you have a fever. Sometimes the body temperature rises and you will feel cold (especially in winter). This will make the bedding thick, and prepare a hot water bottle and heating equipment, while preventing the wind from blowing in from the gap between the kennels.

6. When coughing: Cough mostly occurs when eating, exercising, and barking. It is easy to cough when suffering from various respiratory diseases and heart disease. When the cough is too intense, it will spit out phlegm and food in the stomach. Care for the cough is to quiet the dog and limit movement.

7. Skin diseases: Dogs are susceptible to bacterial infections and skin diseases, especially in summer. In addition, its scratching will worsen the condition, and at the same time, the external medicine used will be licked by the dog and cause poisoning. So, be careful to stop your dog from licking the medicine. At this time, thin leather or thick paper can be used to make a circular neck ring and put it on its neck to prevent the dog from biting the affected part when the skin is itchy.

8. After the sterilization operation: the female dog: After the female dog has been sterilized, check the body temperature ~ times a day for ~ weeks. Generally, the body temperature will rise slightly after the operation. Strengthen feeding and management, and remove sutures after 5 to 7 days. Male dog: After the male dog is neutered, the main nursing work is to prevent bleeding. In the first few hours after the operation, the dog’s activities should be appropriately restricted, and large amounts of water and food should be avoided. Appropriate activities can be started 24 hours after surgery. Once bleeding occurs, hemostasis measures should be taken immediately. Pay attention to hygiene. Avoid postoperative trauma infection.

9. After deworming: The nursing care of dogs after deworming is mainly to strengthen nutrition, pay attention to feeding some protein-rich foods, and cooperate with vitamin 8, vitamin A, vitamin K, etc., to promote the recovery of the dog’s constitution. Pay attention to a clean and hygienic diet, and the food to be fed should be cooked, not raw food. Pay attention to environmental sanitation, clean food utensils, and remove feces in time. In addition, external parasites should be diagnosed and treated in time.
