What is hemigrammus bleheri? What does hemigrammus bleheri look like?

What is hemigrammus bleheri?

Hemigrammus bleheri is similar in size to other species of the same genus, with a red head, bright red snout, silver-white body, almost transparent, black and white stripes similar to scissorfish on the tail fin, body length 50-60 mm, strong body, easy to raise, temperament Mild, native to Brazil in South America.

What does hemigrammus bleheri look like?

Hemigrammus bleheri, the fish‘s snout is bright red, and the caudal fin is cross-shaped scissors, so it is called red-nosed scissor fish. Hemigrammus bleheri is similar in size to other species of lampfish in its genus, reaching up to 6 cm in length. The whole fish is translucent silver-white, with black and white stripes on the caudal fin, generally 4 white stripes and 5 black stripes. A black longitudinal stripe can be seen on the central body axis between the fish snout and the fins running through the fish. body.
hemigrammus bleheri living habits

Hemigrammus bleheri is relatively easy to raise, but the owner of the living conditions it needs should try to restore it as much as possible.
Hemigrammus bleheri should live in weakly acidic soft water, the PH value should be between 5.4-6.8, and the water temperature should be controlled between 22°C-26°C, but new fish should be well watered before entering the tank. It is best to put some neutral or slightly acidic stones in its “home”, and then arrange an area for them to hide, and occasionally they like to be alone.
During the feeding process, you should pay attention to controlling the appropriate density and water temperature. When new fish enter the tank, the water temperature needs to be slightly higher, which can prevent it from suffering from white spot disease. Usually 1 liter of water is a suitable density for 1 cm of fish, and at the same time try to avoid them being exposed to direct sunlight. The frequency of changing the water should not be too frequent, just change 1/3 of the water a week.

hemigrammus bleheri rearing

It can be fed small fish feed, suitable for raising in aquariums with dense aquatic plants, and can be mixed with other small fish. Oviparous mid-level fish like to live in groups. It is best to have no less than 3 hemigrammus bleheri in a single aquarium, otherwise hemigrammus bleheri will curl up in the corner and endure loneliness and stress alone. And the grass tank that breeds hemigrammus bleheri can have a certain area to hide. The pH value of the aquaculture water should not change too much, otherwise it will directly affect its life.
Like the moonfish, hemigrammus bleheri is docile and can be co-fed with other equally gentle fish, as well as in groups in a grass tank. It is necessary to ensure that at least 3 or more are kept in groups, and the number of 8 to 10 is the best, otherwise they will be very timid and hide in hidden places and dare not come out. Generally, the lifespan of red-nosed scissorfish is about 5 years, and it prefers clean water with weak acidity (PH value is about 5.4~6.8). It is best to control the water temperature in the fish tank at 23~26℃. Red-nosed scissorfish is generally best fed twice a day, and can be fed live and artificial feeds such as flakes, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and some other frozen foods.
