What is egyptian mau? What does egyptian mau look like?

What is egyptian mau?

Egyptian Mau is a medium-sized shorthair cat breed. Viviparous, weighing 2.5 to 7 kilograms, with leopard-like markings on the skin and coat color, the Egyptian cat is moderate in shape and muscular. The Egyptian cat is the only cat among the spotted tabby cats that is not artificially bred. The dots on the body, large or small, are randomly distributed, with striped patterns on the face, limbs and tail. There is a scarab pattern between the eyebrows on the forehead.

What does egyptian mau look like?

The Egyptian cat is of medium stature. A typical Egyptian cat will have an M-shaped tabby stripe on the forehead and a patterned distribution on the cheeks. The neck pattern is thin lines, the shoulder stripes are wider, and the shoulders are spotted later. There is a necklace pattern broken in half on the throat, some color spots are randomly distributed on the body, and the hair on the tail is darker. The Egyptian cat is also very special, and that is its eyes. Its eyes are usually light green, glass green or emerald green. The color of the kitten‘s eyes will change with the mood. When it is happy, the eyes will become greener and greener, and when it is angry, the eyes will change to Amber, so the owner can judge its mood based on the change in its eye color.
Head: The head is slightly rounded and wedge-shaped, with a slightly raised nose bridge. The face is plump; the typical Egyptian cat has an “M” pattern on the forehead, as well as on the cheeks. The ears are slightly pointed and slightly large forward, and the insides of the ears are covered with feathers. Almond-shaped eyes, light green, glass green.

egyptian mau living habits

The Egyptian cat is one of the original breeds of the modern domestic cat. Because they are very different from other modern domestic cats in terms of body structure, growth and behavior, it can be seen that it is very old, or at least the habits of this breed are very special. Egyptian cats are sensitive to temperature and love warm places very much. They are sensitive to drugs and anesthetics.
Egyptian cats are very intelligent and love to be close to responsible, loving owners. Many of these cat owners report that when they come home after a long day at work, they find their cat sitting at the door eagerly waiting for them.
While many veterinarians and animal caretakers disapprove, the Egyptian cat’s personality is well-suited to outdoor life. They are agile, quick and naturally intelligent. As long as you take them outdoors carefully from a young age, he will basically learn to avoid all the dangers of the outdoors. Egyptian cats are alert and flexible, do not like strenuous activities, and are suitable for family breeding.

egyptian mau rearing

Egyptian cats are lively, playful, active, docile, neither aggressive nor restrained. Wary of strangers, but friendly to other cats. Very gentle and affectionate towards the owner. The sound is soft and pleasant. Can adapt to apartment life, but can’t stand loneliness. The garden helps it release energy. Just brush it once a week.
Egyptian cats don’t hate cramped places. Because of the sensitive reaction to things, try not to let him be frightened.
